Make it Snappy – Snap frames from SECO by Stewart Superior

What is a snap frame?

Some people call them poster frames but we call them snap frames because they snap into place and can hold far more than just a poster. Snap frames are one of the easiest to use holders of pictures, notices, certificates, posters, photographs, advertisements, information sheets, and anything else that needs to be clearly displayed on a wall or door. The real beauty of a snap frame is that you can swap its contents without having to remove the whole thing off the wall.

How do our snap frames work?

It’s a really good question and the clue is definitely in the name. The frames snap out so you put your display into position and then they snap back in place again. Unlike a photo frame, where you have to take the whole thing off the wall, once you’ve installed this on your preferred door or wall, all you have to do is use your hands and snap the frame out of position and then snap it back. In other words, you load everything from the front rather than from the back, making them the most flexible display units ever!

What size do I need?

We have snap frame in lots of different sizes and so whatever size your item is, you can be sure there’s a snap frame for you. We have at least 11 different size combinations and that covers pretty much every base.

What colours do you have?

Are you ready? We’re like Joseph’s dreamcoat, we’ve got so many, where should we start? Silver of course. And black because that’s a brilliant colour for any room or location. But we’re also fancy. We have chrome. Yes. Chrome. We have Dark Wood, which is a beautiful effect for any frame especially for a more traditional setting. We have Gold. Of course. And everybody’s second favourite colour red (unless it’s your favourite of course), and we also have white et voila, that’s our range of colours.

We hope you love them as much as we do.

What are they made of?

They’re made of high-quality aluminium and PVC and they come as a single piece so you don’t have to put them together before you can use them. They also have a UV resistant, anti-glare PVC front sheet to make everything you display stand out beautifully. This also makes them easy to wipe clean as well. We supply the screws and the rawl plugs because frankly why wouldn’t you? They can be positioned either portrait or landscape, depending on your need.

Why do I need one?

When you have something you’re proud of, you want to show it off to the world! But going to a framing shop to get it done can be expensive and time-consuming. This is a quick, easy and no-hassle solution. They’re affordable and easy to look after too. These are brilliant at home, the office or in commercial settings to show important information or advertise offers or prices. Use them inside because you wouldn’t want to get them wet but other than that, you can literally use them anywhere.

SECO by Stewart Superior adds recycled filing to its portfolio to support market growth across Europe

SECO by Stewart Superior has launched its SECO Recycled range in response to customer demand across Europe, following an informal launch at the beginning of 2021. The new range of 70% recycled filing products also meets new government legislation in key markets to improve waste management to help address the challenges of the climate crisis.

SECO by Stewart Superior was the first stationery brand to introduce biodegradable filing products over a decade ago to support eco-friendly buyers, business customers and home users, looking to reduce the amount of plastic and other materials in use at work and at home.  The new biodegradable filing under the SECO by Stewart Superior brand means that customers in all markets have more choice and can tailor the premium recyclable filing offering that best serves their market. The recyclable filing product is made up of 70% recycled materials and is itself fully recyclable, which has brought an additional environmental benefit to the functionality of the well-known poly-pocket, much loved by anyone who has to file or keep documents safe and clean.

Popular in France with leading retailers like Bruneau, Raja, Adveo, Alkor and Lyreco the new SECO Recyled range from Stewart Superior meets new French legislation and demonstrates the company’s commitment to both continuous improvement and its ISO 140001 accreditation.

Commenting on the launch, Geoff Betts, MD said,

“We are proud to introduce the launch of SECO’s new chapter, SECO Recycled. For the past 13 years Seco has been really successful as a biodegradable alternative to normal plastic filing products. As the market has matured and pressure has increased on governments to do more to improve their environment, a number of countries have adopted different methods of disposing of waste. To respond to that pressure we have developed a range of clear and coloured recycled filing products that are themselves 100% recyclable. I am delighted we are able to bring these to the market and we’re already seeing strong demand for them in France and other European market.”

During the 2000s, climate change became a more prominent, globalised discussion, on the back of Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth (2006) and recycling, reducing and reusing products started to become the mantra of local and national governments everywhere. Consumers and businesses alike began giving more consideration to how they could improve their carbon footprint by changing what they bought, recycling more or choosing products or packaging that wouldn’t have a life longer than their reasonable use.

One of the innovations in plastic that came to the fore then was biodegradable plastic – oxo-biodegradable plastic.  The polypropylene raw material which can be manufactured into poly-pockets, the classic, simple filing protection used for documents of all kinds, worldwide, was combined with an additive to produce oxo-biodegradable plastic. Back in 2008, we thought this was a brilliant idea – and so did lots of other companies too. We introduced a biodegradable filing product by SECO, and this material was and still is used for lots of other products, such as supermarket shopping bags for example.

There are challenges with this kind of product though – like every new innovation, it has its pros and cons, and this has led some countries and states, led by California in the US, to prohibit their sale. In Europe, one of our biggest markets for stationery products, France, has followed suit.

Here at SECO by Stewart Superior, we’re often the first to take up new and innovative ideas and when we realised that there was this issue with our biodegradable filing, we began to look for alternatives we could also offer. We’re always keen to bring to market products that serve our customers, wherever they are, and whatever they need. This move has led us to introduce a recyclable product for markets where our biodegradable filing is no longer available for sale, while offering two kinds of greener filing products in markets that are taking a different view.

This is how product innovation works. Sometimes, we see market trends and respond; at other times, we see an opportunity for something no one else is doing – or doing well – and we bring in a new product range that literally changes the landscape. Recyclable and biodegradable filing products have to be the way forward if we’re keen to reduce, reuse and recycle the resources we all need and use for business, home and educational purposes.

SECO Recycled is the same high-quality poly-pockets as our biodegradable option. Customers who are looking for a recycled product can be confident that this product is what they’re looking for. The clear version is made from 60% recycled materials while our coloured versions are made from an impressive 80% recycled materials (the coloured versions). Clear or coloured, they’re all 100% recyclable when they’ve reached the end of their useful lives. The biggest issue now is single use plastic, even if it is recyclable – and the beauty of all our poly-pockets is that although they appear to be single use, they can endure for years and years and years. In fact I have a colleague who still has a poly-pocket with a certificate in that she first used as a student in the 1990s. When that poly-pocket comes to its end however, that won’t be recyclable.

Whichever your preference or your market demand, our SECO by Stewart Superior green filing products have that extra feel-good factor. They are either recyclable or biodegradable and that means whatever you buy, it’s a better choice than a standard product.  We worked hard to achieve our ISO 14001 back in 2010 and we will continue to work to and exceed those standards. If you’re interested in buying our filing products, we’re available through your stationery retailers everywhere and the large online channels – just look for the SECO by Stewart Superior name or ask for SECO filing by name.

Desk Mats for the whole family

We’re really excited to have launched our own desk mats, available on Amazon.co.uk that are brilliant for your home office or your desk at work to really personalise your space and protect the surfaces you work on!

Desk mats for the office

Tidy desk, tidy mind, so the saying goes. Our desk mats provide a clutter-free space to work at your home office or place of work. You can use the mat to protect your desk from the stains caused from drinks or food. It will also ensure your desk stays free of any stray pen marks or indentations from writing. The physical appearance of your desk becomes cleaner, clearer and far more professional. Using one of our desk mats will transform your working day into something that feels calmer, better organised and more hygienic. They’re completely wipeable so you can use them to the max and protect your desk from scratches from your laptop or pc/mac. You’ll have your own clean space to work in and become more productive and happier in your work as a result.

For children

Our desk mats for children make keeping their playing or writing space an absolute dream! Brightly decorated with colourful letters from A-Z or a full set of timetables, they’re the perfect size to build Lego on, play farms or race cars. Using our desk mat will look like fun for your child, but for you, it’s peace of mind that your carpet or flooring is protected while they play and you can also use our desk mats for serving up a drink and snack while they play.

For older children

Yes, we tell them to work on the table – but do they listen? If your tween or teen is doing homework or crafting, our desk mats are perfect as a quick table protector to keep your beautiful surface free from paint or stains and marks. It’s also far more likely, they’ll end up on the floor – or their bed – working, writing, journaling, crafting, playing computer games – and our desk mats are just the thing for adding that extra layer of protection and security so that your bedding, flooring, or furniture doesn’t suffer simply because your kids weren’t thinking.

In the garden

When the weather is warm, it’s wonderful to work outside in the garden, or retire there early evening finishing off emails and other bits of admin you didn’t get done during the day. The trouble is, we all know that our garden tables are often wobbly or wonky and the surfaces aren’t always flat and comfortable to work on. Buying one of our desk mats will literally change your life! You can work outside comfortably, using one of our brightly coloured or decorated mats, to provide a suitable surface on your deck or in your garden. It’ll also protect your lovely garden furniture from any unwanted spills, scratches or marks caused by your laptop or that cheeky glass of wine you treat yourself to as the sun goes down.

The range

Our full range currently includes four different colours – purple, blue, black or lime – to suit any décor or taste, two children’s desk mats with the alphabet brightly adorning the surface, four photographs of places we’d love to travel to, and a desk calendar for convenient off-the-cuff planning. And coming soon, we’ve got even more choice for you – so keep coming back to see what else Stewart Superior is planning. Whatever you’re after, we’ve got you covered.
